Elaine is a watercolour artist with a passion for very fine detailed work, concentrating mostly on animals.
She is a member of the Coventry & Warwickshire Society of Artists, and has been exhibiting regularly since 1990 in the Warwickshire area. She also won 1stprize at the Campaign to Protect Rural England, Art Competition with her painting ‘Allotments’.
At the moment she is running a weekly informal Art class in Coventry.
Recently she has diversified and is enjoying painting more quirky, illustrative works, for children and adults alike.
Elaine is happy to accept commissions, particularly for family pets.
“I’m a self taught artist who discovered a passion for painting when I was forced to rethink my life due to illness. So in my early forties and despite physical obstacles I managed to complete a BA Hons and PG Dip in Art and Craft, specialising in Smocking. This gave me the confidence to pursue my passion for watercolour.
With the animals I love to show their character and spirit and with my more illustrative pictures the joy is in the detail, in particular the children pictures, there is something new to see each time you look at them.”
