The Annual Exhibition 2008 "The Little Picture Show"
will be held at Kenilworth Library Gallery, Smalley Place, Kenilworth. Wednesday 6th August to Saturday 16th August.

The 95th Year Annual CWSA Exhibition...
was held at the JPAS in Kenilworth from Friday 14th Sept - Sat 29th Sept 2007. The opener for this last exhibition was the Mayor of Kenilworth, Councillor Pat Ryan and his wife, Mrs Joan Ryan. Our thanks to them.
34 of our artist members took part with 81 exhibits on show. The vast majority of the work was two dimensional but covered a wide range of media to include watercolour, oil, acrylic on paper, board and canvas, egg tempera, ceramic, pastel, image transfer, monoprint, collage, intaglio with gold leaf, graphitint, mixed pencil & pen & wash.
Many of the subjects were traditional themes and over the years it has been noted that there are far less in the way of landscapes and that was evident this time. Some of the artists certainly have very personal interpretations, but as the years have gone on, the Society is projecting high quality and individual work that hangs well together.
The winner of the Richard Gill Memorial Trophy was Jim Henly, for his classic pastel on black nightscape of Sydney. Peter Beale was Highly commended for his beautiful and ingenious salt textured landscape and Vivienne Robinson got the Commended for her brilliant and lively acrobatic dancer stunningly executed in oil pastel.
All we have to do now is keep working to make sure we give such artists real competition next time round.
