I’ve always been interested in drawing and I took up art seriously in 2018 shortly after retiring. Since then, I’ve been busy developing my skills and building up my portfolio. I like to vary my subject matter, so my paintings range from landscapes to close-ups of flowers to figure studies. My pictures are intimate in that they come from personal experiences. Like many creatives, I tend to notice things around me that might otherwise go unnoticed, so I like to keep my mobile camera with me for capturing those moments.

My acrylic painting style has evolved from my love to draw and I would say that it has a graphic, illustrative feel. I aim to create scenes that are both recognisable and evocative, often including details which set them in time and place. In contrast, I have been experimenting with very soft pastel sticks and pastel pencils in a less literal style. I have been lucky enough to sell several paintings and I am looking forward to the opportunity of exhibiting my work more widely. Contact me through my website: artbychristinepratt.com
