Ina Nastase
Ina Năstase (Catalina Nastase) is a Romanian-born artist currently based in Coventry, United Kingdom. A graduate of the University of Fine Arts Bucharest, from the Graphics Department, she has developed an artistic voice that bridges academic discipline with emotional spontaneity. During her academic formation in Romania, Ina received several national distinctions, including Second Place and a Special Mention for two consecutive years at the Olimpiada Națională de Arte Plastice, Textile section. Earlier in her career, while still in high school, she was awarded the Diploma de Excelență în Educație by the Prime Minister of Romania - in recognition of her artistic and educational achievements.
Ina has participated in numerous exhibitions in Romania, including at Galeria Simeza Bucharest, Galeria Metopa, during the “Simfonia Lalelelor” Festival in Pitești, at the Argeș County Library, Club Control Bucharest, and Librăria Mon Cher, where she presented both solo and group exhibitions. During the Academic formation her works were also auctioned at the Rotary Charity Gala, and she was invited to take part in the Puma Creative Factory project Bucharest. She was also one of the artist contributing with artwork for the Art for Colectiv project - a charity project created to support the victims and survivors of the tragic event that happened at Colectiv Club, in Bucharest. She has collaborated with several publishing houses in Romania, creating illustrations fir children’s or academic books. Additionally, more recently, she served as a jury member at the L’art D’eco Art Festival, supporting the development of emerging artists.
In 2015, Ina initiated the community art project “Împreună colorăm spitalul de copii” (“Together We Paint the Children’s Hospital”) in her hometown, Pitești, Romania, where she gathered a team of volunteer artists to transform the hospital’s corridors into a joyful, colourful space for children. This project attracted Media’s attention, being praised locally.
Currently in her spare time, she runs art workshops for her friends, focusing on creativity, connection, and wellbeing through art. Ina’s artistic style is eclectic and free, guided by intuition and inspired by real-life moments, ideas, traditions, and emotions. Her work reflects a balance between structure and spontaneity, combining symbolic depth with expressive colour and gesture.
